My First Time Using Makeup For Men

To me makeup had always been something women used.  I grew up on a farm, where the culture was hard work made a man and where a man is meant to be a man’s man.  Skincare routines were never mentioned as we didn’t worry about how we looked or felt, and makeup was described as muck. We were lead to believe that women love a rough rugged man and that if you didn’t follow the norm then there was something wrong with you, your sexuality was questioned or you were weird. The only time makeup was excepted was on Halloween or at a fancy dress party and the skincare routine was wash your face with soap and hot water and the only cream that you should use was sun cream.

Like many young people growing up I was influenced by those around me, but as I got older and started
to develop my own views and spreading my wings I decided to try many different things, things that were
taboos and some that interested me.

That been said years later, old and wisher and In a different place than I was back then, I decided to use a form of makeup I’d came across, a makeup brand that was made for men. However still being a little apprehensive and influenced but my past I decided to try the beard filler product as I have thin and patchy facial hair.  I had always wanted it to look fuller, thicker and more defined but didn’t know how to achieve this and I didn’t like the daily hassle of shaving.

In conclusion makeup isn’t just for women to help them cover up there imperfections and to help them
increase their confidence, it’s for whoever wants to wear it, for whatever reason they choose to.
Having just sampled a tiny put for the makeup products, that are available for men out there I noticed
the difference something as small as a beard fuller did for me. What I’ve come to realize is that it doesn’t
matter if your, Male or Female, Gay, Bi, Lesbian, or however you identify, Gender & Sexuality doesn’t
matter.  What matters is how wearing makeup makes you feel. Should a men hide the fact they wear
makeup? I say no, but that’s my opinion, everyone is different. I believe that if we share are stories,
we will break the stigma surrounding men wearing makeup, like many changes in society day if we face
them head on we will create the new normal.
